The Victorian Legal Services Board + Commissioner (VLSB+C) has announced the successful recipients of its inaugural Strong Foundations grants funding stream.
Strong Foundations grants provide stable and flexible funding over three to five years for Community Legal Centres working to improve access to justice for all Victorians. This new funding stream is designed to magnify impact by strengthening the foundational work of organisations, enabling them to harbour expertise and catalyse change.
Flexible and sustained funding is hugely important for organisations to deliver consistent high-quality services and to plan for the future. We thank VLSB+C for recognising the value of funding the foundational work of Community Legal Centres through this flexible funding stream.
The eight Strong Foundations 2024 grantees are:
- ARC Justice
- Consumer Action Law Centre
- Eastern Community Legal Centre
- First Step Legal
- Law and Advocacy Centre for Women
- Northern Community Legal Centre
- Southside Justice
- WEstjustice
Community Legal Centres play an integral role in ensuring that all Victorians have access to justice. We are excited to see a funding injection of this nature into our sector, which provides lifechanging services for people experiencing disadvantage every day.
