Working with Interpreters to best effect

This workshop will explore some of the challenges of working through interpreters and to develop some strategies and skills to overcome these challenges. 

On completion of this training, participants will be able to:

  • learn to identify challenges in different interpreting contexts and develop the knowledge and skills to manage and address these challenges;
  • develop strategies to address reluctance to engage interpreting services; and
  • increase their capacity to engage in effective communication with interpreters and individuals.

 

 

Designed for: CLC staff and volunteers who work with interpreters
Presenter(s):

The Centre for Culture, Ethnicity and Health (CEH) is a specialist provider of training and information on cultural diversity, health and wellbeing.    Their trainers are Certificate IV Workplace Training and Assessment qualified and experienced in working with health professionals, community organisations and government.
