Community Legal - We've got your back! When things go wrong, we all need somewhere to turn. That might be a doctor or a hospital. That might be a homelessness or mental health service. It might be food relief or Centrelink. In many cases, it will be a community legal service. Our services are free and we work in every Victorian community to help people get through life’s toughest times. It might be finding safety from violence, family law issues, avoiding eviction, a fair go at work, relief from fines and debt, insurance problems or culturally safe legal advice. Over 75,000 Victorians every year turn to a community legal service for help with over 170,000 legal problems. Sadly, twice that number are turned away because investment doesn't meet community need. We give people the information, advice, support and representation they need to prevent small problems getting worse and to resolve life and legal problems. Investing in community-based legal assistance is one of the most powerful and cost-effective way to make our community and legal system work better for all of us.
