Victorian Community Organisations
Done By Law is seeking new presenters!
Done By Law is 3CR’s law radio show. They been presenting a radical look at the law since 1980, telling stories that wouldn’t otherwise be told on mainstream media. Done By Law is presented and supported by the Federation of Community Legal Centres.
They are looking for three to four people who have involvement in the community legal sector to come on board as presenters.
Done By Law really encourage Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander people, bla(c)k people, people of colour, people with disability, and LGBTIQ+ people to apply.
The roles are unpaid voluntary roles (the whole show, and indeed most of the station operates on a volunteer basis). We have four groups of 3 to 4 people who work within the group to present one show per month.
Previous radio experience is not necessary! Done By Law will structure the groups to pair new presenters with experienced presenters.
As part of the role you will need to:
- undertake 3CR radio training (there is a fee for this, but well worth it!);
- become a subscriber of 3CR. The cost per year is $35 unwaged/concession, $75 waged. If you are otherwise interested but this is a barrier for you, please let us know.
- engage in very occasional meetings and working bees with the whole team of presenters; and
- assist in the planning and running of our yearly fundraiser (usually our famous trivia night).
If you would like to discuss the role, please contact [email protected] or [email protected].
How to apply
Please send an expression of interest by email to [email protected]. The expression of interest should cover:
- A short bio;
- Your involvement in the community legal sector; and
- Why you are interested in Done By Law and community radio.
