Community legal centres are on the frontline of responding to the climate justice legal needs of Victorian communities. The Federation of Community Legal Centres has developed a Climate Justice Field Guide for Community Legal Centres to support community legal centres on their climate justice journeys.

What is the field guide?
The Climate Justice Field Guide for Community Legal Centres (field guide) is the culmination of the lived experience of community legal centres and the communities they work with as they embed climate justice into practice. Filled with tools, case studies, theory and information, it provides guidance to community legal centre staff on how to ensure their centres are resilient; and build their capabilities to support communities through services, education and advocacy, as we collectively seek a sector transformation towards realising climate justice. The field guide explores best practice for empowering and communicating with communities, and the intersection between climate change, human rights and the law. It is a pioneering resource in the emerging field of climate justice, and a must-have guide for those who work in or with community legal centres.

Climate Justice Toolbox
Checklists, templates and frameworks, and guidance for monitoring, evaluation, learning, and scenario planning are tools included in the field guide to help community legal centres realise climate justice. We’re calling these tools the Climate Justice Toolbox.
