The Victorian Office of the Public Advocate (OPA) has published a new report: NDIS service agreements: making choice and control more real.
The NDIS service agreements report describes OPA’s continuing concerns about NDIS service agreements, based on their work with people with disability. These issues are not unique to Victoria.
They also make a series of recommendations to address the problems with NDIS service agreements that we are seeing. They have raised their concerns with the National Disability Insurance Agency. The response of the agency has been included in their report.
OPA has information for service providers about NDIS service agreements on their website available at https://www.publicadvocate.vic.gov.au/guardianship-administration/information-for-service-providers. The information includes two deed templates that contain terms that are fair to people with a disability and providers.
The Victorian Public Advocate is empowered by law to promote and safeguard the rights and interests of people with disability. You can find out more about the Office of the Public Advocate (and download the report) via this link https://www.publicadvocate.vic.gov.au
