Preventing family violence - Federal election commitments

Living a life free from violence is everyone’s right.

Yet, too many women continue to be killed and seriously injured at the hands of an intimate partner.

Community legal centres are at the forefront of keeping women and their children safe. Early legal support can help women escape violent relationships safely. Legal help after a woman escapes a violent relationship allows her to thrive – to unravel often complex financial abuse and to set up a new home.

This Federal Election we want to see more support for women and their children escaping family violence.

We call on all parties to support a holistic approach to prevent family violence.
